The operators indicate whether the lit segments of a display need to be inverted, whether the lit segments of 2 displays need to be added (e.g. “I” + “_” = “L”), or whether the lit segments of 2 displays need to be subtracted from each other (e.g. “L” – “_” = “|”). You will need to work out the intermediate results where several operators are chained in a sequence…
