Puzzle 14

This is a super compelling puzzle. I figured out the solution by transcribing each ring into a column on a separate piece of paper and then trying to navigate through to make a word; however, I feel like I just got lucky and didn’t end up using the symbols at all. How was I supposed to do it?

According to the left hand page, the key to solving this puzzle is “planets”.
Do a Google or Wikipedia search for planet symbols and you’l figure out how to easily derive the word 😉
